Hello Jayne, 

Thank you for sharing your story. I am sorry to hear you have just been diagnosed with cancer of the tonsil but I am glad you have already been in touch with the wonderful Hazel aka [@RadioactiveRaz]‍ and I am not surprised that she has been so helpful and supportive and she may well know others here who have also had this diagnosis and perhaps put you in touch with others here who find themselves in a similar situation. I know you are aware of the 26 page long thread Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the Tonsil where you will have met Hazel and some of our other members affected by cancer of the tonsil. All this must have come as a real shock to you but it won't be long now until you find out more about your treatment options. You may have already seen this, but we have a detailed section on our website on tonsil cancer which you can find on this page. 

As a former chemotherapy nurse, I imagine you already know a lot about all this but if you ever needed to talk to anyone or have any questions once you hear more from the MDT, our cancer nurses are only a free phone call away on 0808 800 4040 - their line is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm.  

It's also really kind of you to offer to support others who find themselves in a similar boat and I will now let our other members come and say hello and share their stories with you.

Hello there,

I don’t have cancer but my husband has the same cancer as you have been diagnosed with, he finished treatment three weeks ago, we are currently in limbo just waiting and hoping now! Stay positive and keep your mind positive, it’s surprising how much it helps! Have you got somebody to walk with you through this one?

I know I can’t help in many ways but i’ve walked the rocky road and held someone’s hand! So I have seen the effects!!
