Today on his 3 month check up my dad was told that his PSA level had risen from 4 to 8 despite being on the hormone meds to keep his stage 4 prostrate cancer at bay. He was also informed that there were spots on his lungs. His wife and him , who have been dealing with the initial diagnosis as well as can be expected, now feel as if “that’s it”
I was present at the initial visit and when my dad and his wife stopped “ taking the information in “ the consultant addressed me. Today however I was not present in the room when this new information was given. I’m not certain if either have picked up all the correct information or have misinterpreted it.
What can I do?
Can I contact the consultant with my dads permission to clarify the situation.
Without being 100 percent sure of the exact information can anyone at least guide me to where I might gain info or relay something of their own experiences. It would be very much appreciated.
