Possible throat cancer

I had breast cancer last year which spread to my lymph nodes. I had surgery and radiotherapy. I have had a croaky voice for months. I mentioned it to my oncologist 2 weeks ago and he said nothing to worry about. Last week I told my GP about it and she said she is going to refer me to the ENT department. I looked on my online surgery records and it says she has asked me to be fast tracked for neck and head cancer. It also said the patient has been made aware of this but I wasn't. I'm so scared. I can't sleep. I don't have pain or swallowing problems, just a very croaky voice.

  • Hi Lyricoflight .  I have breast cancer , had chemo and radiotherapy.  I get a very croaky voice especially in the mornings and sometimes nearly lose my voice.  Other days my voice is fine.  My oncologist is not bothered about this.  Hope you are okay and it is not related to cancer.

  • Thanks for your reply. I think maybe it could be due to the radiotherapy as I had it along my clavicle which I think is quite close to your voice box. I have my ENT appointment Friday so fingers crossed. I think once you have had cancer you worry about every little ache or pain. I hope your treatment has gone well for you x
