Possible throat cancer

I had breast cancer last year which spread to my lymph nodes. I had surgery and radiotherapy. I have had a croaky voice for months. I mentioned it to my oncologist 2 weeks ago and he said nothing to worry about. Last week I told my GP about it and she said she is going to refer me to the ENT department. I looked on my online surgery records and it says she has asked me to be fast tracked for neck and head cancer. It also said the patient has been made aware of this but I wasn't. I'm so scared. I can't sleep. I don't have pain or swallowing problems, just a very croaky voice.

  • Hi Lyricoflight,

I hope you have been doing OK since your post - I can understand this must be concerning, particularly if you read some information that perhaps wasn't explained to you in person.

I can see you have also spoken to one of our nurses about this and received a reply from them. Hopefully it won't be long before you get your appointment through and an opportunity to find out more and ask any questions you have.

We're always here for support if you need it.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Ben
