Lobular Breast Cancer Diagnosis at 48. Feeling nervous about what's to come

Hi All,

just been diagnosed with early stage lobular breast cancer at 48. I’m waiting on an MRI next week to get a full picture of the extent of the cancer and then it will be surgery (with maybe some treatment beforehand). Totally bewildered with this diagnosis and feeling apprehensive about the coming few months

    Hi Ahd21.  Sorry to hear about your diagnosis.  I was diagnosed with grade 2 lobular breast cancer at 47.  I had lumpectomy, chemo and then radiotherapy.  Followed by tamoxifen.  I also had a MRI before to check for spread but luckily it was only in one lymph node.  The Macmillan website has a breast cancer forum with ladies in same position as us  Good luck for next week, please let me know how you get on..
