  • Hi Stormster

I consider myself really lucky to have been prescribed cemiplimab immunotherapy by my oncologist.I was in a bad way a year ago and this has shrunk some of the tumours and stopped the others advancing. My side effects are fatigue, extremely itchy rash, some odema in lower legs feet, I take lots of short walks to help with it. I also get short of breath. On plus side I'm celebrating New Year which I did not think I would make.  But I know that everyone reacts differently and some of the side effects can be life threatening.

If your oncologist recommends you discontinue treatment, I would take their advice. I had a break of two cycles on oncologists advice to reduce side effects. All the best for the New Year and whatever decision you decide to take.

  • HI Stormster, i felt lucky because it has been my only option, and the treatment has killed a lot of my cancer in a couple of sessions. I have had to stop treatment now as my body is being *** from the side affects, but we are working on this too my friend. My good isnt everyones good!

Your family want only the best for you, your consultant want that too, i would listen more to the consultant but what do you want to do?

  • So sorry to hear you have been through a rough time with treatment. Cancer has touched my family several times with my dad being the most recent. All I can say is that you are the most important person in this and to gather all the information, counselling and support available to you and use those experiences to decide what is right for you. Mental health support is so important as you will need strength to deal with the consequences of any decision so prioritise your well-being from all aspects. If your family truly care for you I hope they will support whatever you decide. Best wishes. ️
