Apologies for not getting back to you sooner. I'm sorry to hear that your partner has been told that he has tonsil cancer but it sounds as if the specialists are confident this can be cured. 

I wanted to suggest you have a look at this thread and maybe post to introduce yourself to some of the members there. They have a wealth of experience of undergoing treatment for oral cancers and in particular I know that RadioactiveRaz aka Hazel has been able to share some great advice and tips on some of her posts. 

It's going to be a difficult few months for you both DebsyJ but please know we're here to offer any help and support we can.

Thank you, we attended the MDT meeting and  they went through everything from definite short term side effects and long term side effects. We are very well informed and made us aware of how brutal this treatment is going to be. He has already had some teeth removed in prep and going for the mask fitting next week then peg tube in about 3 weeks. Appointment with speech therapist and dietician to follow soon.Treatment starts 3 to 4 weeks. The whole process to date has been quick and efficient and have nothing but positive things to say about the team. It's just something you don't want someone to go through. Appreciate you telling me  your positive outcome and so pleased to hear you are doing well. X
