Hello friends! Newly diagnosed with neck cancer

I am John and new to this forum and therefore a newly diagnosed neck cancer person. I’ve got Chemo and Radiation on the horizon and I’m absolutely petrified of what’s coming. I’ve been a nurse for 35 years and never a patient and already it’s challenging. I feel very afraid for myself but more so for my husband Shaun and close family. Our two Cavapoo dogs Ollie and Milo are giving up so much love and attention it’s quite lovely! hopefully I’ll meet a lot of new friends on here. Take care xxx

  • Hi John, I am newly diagnosed too. Just had a neck dissection at a hospital in Oxford. Salivary gland and lymph gland on left side removed. Next will be radiotherapy. My partner died last year, so just me, but lots of friends and support. Taking it one day at a time. Will start my neck exercises today & stitches out next Tuesday
