I know this isn't what your expecting to hear but had my first Chemo last week, and found it utterly relaxing x I didn't cold cap.

Doesn’t sound too bad, the only thing for mine is that my appointment isn’t until 3.30! I mentioned to the nurse today and she is going to see if it can be changed to earlier because it will be difficult for me to get a lift home in the evening when the kids are in bed. Rest of the appointment was fine, just lots of info and leaflets, then I had my first zoladex injection which unexpectedly made me super emotional, we weren’t really done having kids so it’s sad to shut down my ovaries..

Yeah I saw that hospital on the list, didn’t realise they had a wig shop, so think I’ll see if I can go there next week. Maybe try one of the shops in the city centre as well xx

That’s a late appt especially if you’re trying the cold cap. The hospital I've been offered that's further away close the unit at 4.30 so always early appts, I’m guessing the hospital in central Glasgow are open much later.

Sorry to hear you had to have the zoladex injection hard on you when you have so much else to deal with.

Ive to have injections later on to make me post menopausal if chemo itself doesn’t bring it on.

The girls at the hospital in central Glasgow are lovely only thing was the colour of the wigs weren’t suitable so maybe would be good to try somewhere else too and give yourself a better idea, I wish I had.

Slept well last night woke up feeling ok, took my steroids and anti sickness with some toast at 9am and I’m now starting to feel a little sick other than that all good. xx

Yeah she said that hospital is open until 7 or 8pm, but even if we didn’t have the kids it’s a real *** time to be getting out. Good, really glad to hear you are feeling ok so far, hope you are getting plenty of rest xx

Hi! Just a wee drop in to say I’m feeling absolutely fine so far. I’m 2 days in with injections and nothing untoward although I don’t want to jinx myself as it’s still early days. 
Had a drama when I  realised I hadn’t  put the injections in the fridge as suggested  but was told it was ok to use them after several phone calls to check!

The hair is all good. I’ve only washed it once since chemo which is really hard for me, I usually wash dry and straighten every single day! 
I’ve bought a silk pillow slip and bobble for bedtime and only brush when need to wide tooth comb.

Will see what round 2 of chemo does but all ok for now xx

Silk pillow is a very good idea, I’m going to add that to my list of stuff to get. I’m going to get mine cut this week cos it is quite tangley and difficult to comb through when it’s long so I think having it shorter will help. They mentioned some injections that I’ll have to do at home, did u get those? Xx

Silk pillowcase is good. 
Yes I’ve to self inject for 7 days starting 2 days after each cycle of chemo. 
I can’t do it myself, even though I’m a nurse lol so my daughter is doing it for me x

Hello, change of plan they delayed it by a week as I had to get some dental work done first and couldn’t get an appointment until yesterday. So starting next Thursday or Friday, just waiting on a letter with the new schedule. Thanks for your message though. How are you doing now? Xx

Oh that’s good your getting  your dental work done first.

I’m doing good, I’ve had a few headaches, some dizziness and my stomach a bit upset since starting the injections but all manageable and not stopping me from getting out and about.

Round 2 next wed so will see how that goes.

I went to a wig shop in the city centre today (will message u privately to let u know which one) but it was brilliant I’ve ordered one that I really like. I also went to the one at my hospital that u went to but wasn’t keen on any of theirs, I thought this shop was far better so if u haven’t got one yet I’d highly recommend them xx

Hello, how did round 2 go? I’m officially starting tomorrow so I’ll just be a week behind you. Had my pre-chemo hair cut today, cried quite a lot but actually quite liking my new choppy bob, never had my hair like this before, always had it long. Hope you are doing well xx

Hi Emma, unfortunately didn’t go to plan had to stop because my vein tissued. 
After 10 attempts the decision has been made for me to have a picc line

So back next week to try again after picc line inserted.

I also had my hair cut, it’s now shoulder length, shortest I’ve had it.
