Terrified

A 47 year old that lost her mum to breast cancer at 29. Mum first had Breast Ca at 37, lumpectomy and radiotherapy. Aged 47/48 cancer returned on other breast. Again stage 1, mum opted to have bilateral mastectomy and reconstructive surgery. Again lymph nodes clear. 2 year later took unwell.. mets in lungs within 5 months sadly left us.
I have been on screening cause of high risk, mum gene tested didn’t have bracac gene.
Me had a clear mammogram 6 months ago… noticed last week one nipple puckering.. felt a lump… got appointment with breast specialist this coming Monday.
I’m absolutely terrified, doctor goggle ain’t good ‍♀️

But more terrified for my two daughters. Don’t want them living their life like I did terrified of having breast Ca

  • Hi Vampire,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I'm sorry to hear of what you went through with your mum, and that you're going through a worrying time at the moment.

I can see you have your appointment today - I hope that it goes OK.

Do try to avoid looking things up on Google as a lot of it won't be relevant and it only tends to increase worries.

There will be others on the forum who have been through something similar so hopefully you'll get some more replies here soon, and we are always here if you need it.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Ben
