Hi there,

Just wanted to introduce myself

I have Stage 4 NSCLC

My profile tells you about me, so I won't repeat it all.

This seems like a great site and I'm hoping to get some support (and give some as well, hopefully.)

  • Hiya Pinkcandoone, and welcome to the club no-one ever wants to join.  There are a lot of really nice and compassionate folks on this forum, and even if you just want to come here for a rant (which I myself have done on occasion), no-one will judge you.  We are all in the same boat here, whether it is having the big C ourselves, or caring for someone with this disease or grieving for those we have lost to it.  I have stage 4 cancer.  It began in my breast and has now spread.  I think that we all go through so many stages of emotions with this kind of diagnosis.  I am now at the acceptance stage.  You are so right when you say that a person's lifestyle should not be held against them when it comes to cancer.  I remember when my Oncologist asked me if I was a drinker or a smoker and I told her that I no longer smoked or drank, but that I did a LOT of both when I was younger and I remember the look of horror on her face when I admitted that I had been a chain smoker for years in my teens and 20s.  Only those who have led absolutely perfect and blameless lives can sit in judgement upon others, and I have yet to meet one person who falls in to that category.  Anyway, hope you find the support you need here (I'm sre you will) and once again, welcome, Violet, x

  • Thankyou, xx

It must be tough dealing with your problems and having to care for your wife as well.

I hope you get some respite.
