Welcome to Cancer Chat Terry although I'm sorry to hear what happened after you had two fizzy drinks.
Unfortunately this isn't a question I can't answer but our team of cancer nurses may be able to help so if you'd like to speak with them about this they're available on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.
Hopefully some of our members will share their experiences with you soon but do be sure to have a chat with your cancer team about this as well.
Wishing you all the best with the rest of your chemo Terry.
Kind regards,
Steph, Cancer Chat Moderator
I find diet fizzy drinks a sweetener cause loose stools and abdominal pain. I am not on chemo, maybe try tea/milk next time as it's quite bland.
I hope your treatment finishes soon take care

Hi I lived on fizzy drinks,(sugar free) ginger ale as only thing i could taste properly, everything else tasted funny . Same with food strong flavours weren't to bad rest tasted like cardboard .
Never had problems with toilet .
Hope things improve, and your treatment goes well.

Chemo can cause loose stools so it makes sense to think about what you consume. That said l drank ginger beer, during my pre surgery chemo with no problems, post surgery chemo with a stoma was a little more challenging, but l moderated intake, never drinking by the can, small amounts from a larger bottle. It does not give you loose stools but can inject gas in amongst them is my take ,
