Mum is dying of cancer

Hey,

I'm struggling on which way to turn. My mum has been battling myeloma cancer for 5yrs. She has not been giving weeks to live. I just feel so numb. I am trying to keep things normal. I am also meant to be getting married on August but I just can't even think of that anymore.
I know this might sound stupid but I feel like I'm grieving even though she is still here?
Not even sure what I want out of writing this, just think I need to vent xxx

  • Hello Hoopxx,

A warm welcome to Cancer Chat. I am so sorry to hear that your mum has been given weeks to live. It is normal to feel if you were already grieving because you know that she is terminally ill. This is making you feel numb but you are right to try and keep things normal even though it is really difficult for you to do so.

It must be so hard to have all this happening when you are meant to be getting married in August and it's completely understandable that you are not in the mood right now to focus on your wedding. You've come to the right place though to talk to others who understand exactly how you are feeling at the moment. Many on the forum will be able to relate to what you are going through and I hope they will be along shortly to share their stories with you.

Keep strong Hoopxx and feel free to come here anytime you need to offload!

    Best wishes,
