Uncurable oesophageal cancer but been offered chemo and immunotherapy to give me a chance of living longer

6 years ago I had cancer which was cured . Unfortunately at beginning of march I was taken to hospital with chronic stomach  pains it was found I an inflamed pancreas after a ct scan also some tumours were found unfortunately this time can not be operated on . They said because Its serious this time and terminal they are going to do their best and give me chemo and immuno hopefully that will shrink them and give me a 65 percent chance of living longer than 18 months . The immuno is a new type I am having it as a trial which is brilliant . Loads of appointments  though

  • Hi Lee

Good for you to post about still living a good life with incurable cancer, it gives hope to the many people that will read this. With modern treatments our quality of life can be much improved and extended even though we all live with some form of incapacity. Keep cool, drink plenty avoid midday sun. Big hug

  • Cheers bud going to meet a few of my old school mates this morning we try and do it on a regular bases . Gosh its hot already got a kneck fan which helps plus a tall tower fan and also one in bedroom keep cutains drawn in bedroom as well plenty of fluids as well

  • Its great to have kept in touch with your old school mates all these years and to still be meeting up. I still see a few of mine intermittently as we live a long way from each other and are no longer in prime health. I'm possibly the lucky one with cancer. While mates have dementia, COPD and on oxygen, heart problems and liver disease. Still we have all had very good lives, lived to the full and will be returned to our maker in very used condition. Have a great day and a good laugh.
