Anyone under 30?

Hello guys my names Sophie. I’m 23 and got diagnosed with Bowel cancer just before my 22, was given the all clear and then rediagnosed before my 23. Gone through chemo, immunotherapy, radiotherapy, four surgeries, sepsis, shingles and a stroke and have had a full hysterectomy, my rectum, part of my bowel, bladder, and tailbone removed and the some of the nerves to my left leg cut. Now have two permanent stomas and along with not being able to walk properly, I will be disabled for the rest of my life. In the space of 6 months lost the only 2 friends I made on the cancer ward, I'm really lonely. I just want someone I can relate too and let's be honest that's hard to find when your my age. Sorry for the long paragraph but thanks if you have taken the time to read x

  • Hi Sophie, my name is Jodie. I got diagnosed with breast cancer age 24 and I've just recently turned 27, so just a little older than you. You've been through quite a journey, and I feel the same as you, not really anything to relate to when you're in your twenties. A little about me, I started with chemo, had a seizure after my first session, a cavernoma was discovered on my brain, after chemo then had a double mastectomy, then radiotherapy, every 4 weeks I have an injection to keep me in medical menopause as my tumour was estrogen positive and every six months I have a bone infusion as treatment I'm having can cause osteoporosis. It's super hard, and I feel incredibly alone. I'm tired, and it's hard knowing that no one around me will ever truly understand x

  • Jesus you've been through abit of a journey as well! And your so right that no one understands, it is an extremely lonely existence. After loosing the girls I wish I could just have someone to vent to, even if they don't understand it people try and they just shouldn't! They have no idea! X

  • I know this might not mean anything as obviously you don't know me at all, but I think there's a message thing in here? Feel free to vent to me, I lost a lot of my friends through this, I know what it's like to need to vent x

  • That would be amazing thank u! X
