My husband has oesophogeal cancer he has coffee made with milk soup milky bar n roll mousse n custard that's it but its sustained him

Hi morgsyjules, have you tried things blended well so it's more a drink. Or you can get those milk shake drinks with all the things in to keep someone healthy, sorry can't remember name. Best wishes.

what about smoothies as you can add things to that. I am not sure of nutrition requirements/what he can and can't eat.  Hope he is ok.  I make protein snacks, not sure if they will be any good for him but handy or maybe egg muffins (like omelette but in muffin cases).

Soft, smooth and nutricious? I had skin cancer around my mouth that made eating physically difficult quite apart from wrecking my appetite. What worked for me was tins of chunky soup blended smooth (Amazon sell large diameter straws, regular straws just don't work for this). That way at least some meat and veg make it into the diet. I also stopped all usual drinks and had complan instead. Food supplements meant for bodybuilders are good too - lots of nutrients and calorie dense in a choice of flavours. At least drinks can be sipped at now and then, and if hot can always be topped up in the microwave, makes it easier to maintain the food intake.

Hi ive had them and my partner used them there called fortisips or fortjuice they are like a milkshake specialy blended with masses of calories and vitimins theres five hundred calories in them and there only in a small bottle have a look on the web they have a site with resipys and advice the fortijuices are thinner but with same calories and vits they use them in hospitals for people who have trouble eating your gp will be able to give you a prescription of course check with him they come in diffrent flavours but steer clear of the neutral ones they dont have any taste i liked youthe vanilla  may know of them in that case sorry  to mentioned it hope you get something that your husband likes you can buy them from the chemist but there not cheap and you should get them free there are soup ones but not sure if there a ailable in the uk .regards paul  ps they come with straws
