Hi, I am currently going through something similar. My dad was diagnosed with Lung cancer in July last year, and then my mum was diagnosed with lung cancer in Feb of this year. My step dad has had radiotherapy, which has shrunk the tumor,  giving him more time, however my mum was too late and has spread to her liver and bone. There is no treatment for her only palliative care. This has been the hardest journey ever. I don't think there is a right or wrong way of coping, it's finding what it's right for you. But you do need time to let go of what is building up, whether that be time by yourself or with someone else to either have a good cry or just to talk.
