Coming to the end ? No more treatment for hubby as he's too poorly now. Trying my best to support him but he's deteriorating quickly

So hubby has finally been told by Oncologist no more treatment has he is too poorly.

So trying to support him best I can but I think he is deteriorating quite quickly

He is very sleepy and has reduced eating and drinking but is still able to have full conversations between snoozing

It is hard to see him so frail and he is upset that he might not get to see his new grandchild arrive

I am on a knife edge each time I go into his room but also hoping he just goes to sleep and his suffering ends soon

It is so hard to watch and know nothing can change what will happen.

We tell each other we love each other.

It is such a impactful thing being a carer to your spouse ....To anyone out there in similar situation sending strength

  • Hello Ed Jolamine and Dawntreader

Thank you to all of you for your kindness and support

I really do appreciate you all taking time to reply.

Today the palliative nurse came and was able to address some of our concerns and questions

So we are keeping hopeful that some of his symptoms are due to things that can be improved ( blood tests pending) Fingers crossed

As previously shared Ed the precious moments mean more and can pop up when least expected.....so even amongst a busy day we shared some time our own way. I call them Golden moments....

So thank you all again for being a light in the dark for me / us

Wishing you all peace and time to share your own golden moments

    Kindest wishes RB
