  • Oh lucycat I am so sorry to read this. I can imagine this is such a hard time for you and it's completely normal that you are feeling helpless. I just wanted you to know that we are here for you and if you wanted to talk to someone, our nurse helpline is only a free phone call away so don't hesitate to ring it on 0808 800 4040 Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm. Another useful resource for you would be Marie Curie who also have a free helpline you could ring and they also have useful information on caring for someone with a terminal illness. They also provide support via their nurses who can be there to provide emotional support in your own home - you can find out more about this here.

Our website also has information on choosing to be at home  in these final months, weeks or days with useful tips on making changes to your home, knowing who to contact and what services are available to you and support available to carers.

I will now let our members who have been in a similar place come and say hello and share their personal and often emotional story with you. It helps to talk to others who have been through this extremely difficult time before and I just wanted you to know that you are not alone and we are thinking of you and your husband.

    Warmest wishes,
