Baffled

Recently I found a small lump in my left breast when bending forward. My GP felt it too. As did the registrar in the breast care clinic  and the surgeon, but only when I bent forward. I was referred for a mammogram and an ultrasound but neither showed any sign of the lump! I am very concerned as I had stage 3 lobular breast cancer 22 years ago and had a mastectomy of my right breast. Should I ask for another ultra scan ?

  • Hi there and thanks for the post

I am sorry to hear about your past history of cancer and the ongoing concerns over this lump in your breast that you can still feel.

I am sure if the breast unit had been concerned about the results following the mammogram and ultrasound they would have arranged further tests. If you remain worried or notice further changes then do go back and speak to your doctor about this. They can refer you back to the breast clinic if necessary.

I hope you can get some peace of mind and reassurance about this soon.

Do get back in touch if you would like to or give us a call on 0808 800 4040 if you prefer to talk it through over the phone.

    Best wishes
