I am sorry to learn of your situation this must be a difficult time for you.

I imagine it was a shock to get your diagnosis and as Eddie has posted, it is hard when there is a lot of uncertainty. However, prostate cancer is a common cancer and because of this doctors know how to treat it. Hormone therapy and radiotherapy are some of the main treatments that are known to be effective; generally, people will respond well to it.

A person's outlook will depend on many factors such as the stage of the cancer (its size and how far it has spread), how well a person responds to treatment, and how well they are generally whether they have other health conditions. The doctors can only talk about a person's outcome based on their own experience of looking after people in a similar situation, no one can say with certainty how things will be. I appreciate this uncertainty is difficult to live with.
