PSA test results

What does a PSA result of 74 mean?

Does this convert to ng/ml?

  • Hello Sulinzi and a warm welcome to the forum, The PSA test is to measure the amount of an antigen, prostate specific antigen, present in the blood. the prostate always gives off a small amount of this antigen but should the prostate get infected or damaged the amount of the antigen released into the blood increases. Your PSA of 74 ng/ml, "all PSA scores are in nanograms per millilitre ng/ml", indicates a probable issue with the prostate gland. The main causes being an enlarged prostate, urinary tract infection, prostatitis and cancer. take care.
