Hello Chump and a warm welcome to the forum though i am sorry you have to be here and that your brother has cancer. I am not a nurse, though i have had prostate cancer for 2 years. Your brothers prostate cancer is T2b which means it's localised and is only in part of one half of the prostate, caught very early, slow growing and is unlikely to spread to lymph glands or anywhere else. Which when talking about prostate cancer is very good news. An urgent referral is standard when cancer is suspected, it does not mean treatment is urgent, Your brothers cancer stage T2b means another 8 weeks waiting will not make a difference. When you see the doctor in 8 weeks, as the cancer has been caught very early, your brother may even go on active surveillance, which means he will have regular tests to monitor the cancer until treatment is needed. and when treatment is needed it will be done to cure him, take care.
