I have just had my annual blood tests etc and one of the abnormal results is Vitamin D3 deficiency, looked up results through NHS app. I haven't got an appointment yet with a GP but wondered if the chemo, for my Stage 3c Primary Peritoneum Cancer, could have had anything to do with this. I completed my chemo in November 2023 - Carbo and Paclitaxel.
I was diagnosed with osteopenia nearly 4 years ago and have been prescribed Supercal+Vit D which I have been taking since diagnosis. I also take Alendronic Acid once a week for my osteopenia. My DEXA scan should have been in September last year but I am still awaiting an appointment, my GP said last month he would chase it up. Since diagnosis I have been eating more ice creams, cream, yogurts etc as advised by GP, which has made my cholesterol go up!
Should I advise my oncologist? Would the GP advise the oncologist?
