  • Hi and thank you for your post.

I'm sorry to hear that you're concerned about your health. You made the right decision by visiting your doctor, and I'm glad to hear that you received the all-clear from the hospital. However, if your symptoms change or become worse, it would be best to return to your GP for further evaluation.

I'm afraid we can't say exactly what might be going on for you, but I can provide this link to the Breast Cancer Now (a UK breast cancer charity) website. It discusses things that can go on in the breast other than cancer.

I hope you find this information helpful. Please get back to us if you need any more information or support.  You may find it helpful to talk things through with one of the nurses on our helpline.  The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.

    Kind regards,

    Tina

  • I have had an inverted nipple for many years now and my GP said it is just something that sometimes happens but I was sent for breast screening just to make sure. There was no cancer. I have not had any puckering at any time though.

  • Hello EAH and thanks for the post

It is normal for some women to have inverted nipples. The important thing for you is you have been checked out in a breast clinic and nothing abnormal was found.

As long as you don't notice any other changes there is no reason to be concerned. Of course if you notice anything unusual in the future see your GP about it and they can send you back to the breast unit if needed.

    Take care

    Naomi
