Hi, just to let you know, I had my hospital appointment today with the consultant.
When they removed my lump, they found s ome ore cancerous cells, however this has been removed and I've got clear margins on my breat and lymph nodes.
I'm definitely having hormone tablets for 10 years and Radiotherapy. However, some patients benefit from chemotherapy and some patients don't. I'm one of those patients where they are unsure. So now I have to wait another 3-4 weeks for another appointment to see the Oncologist who will tell me what percentage the chemotherapy will be beneficial for me. They will also confirm how long I need Radiotherapy for.
If the percentage of chemotherapy being beneficial is 2% for example, I need to decide if I want it. Some patients decide they don't because it's going through all that pain for 2% whereas some patients say 2% is 2%. The test is called a pro signa test
So It's a waiting game to find out what percentage it is for me then I need to make decision. If I do end up having chemo, it be for 6 months .
I am also going to be referred for the genes testing to see if it hereditary x
Has anyone had the experience where they needed the prosigna test because it's was not clear if chemotherapy was required?
