Hi , how awful for you. You must be feeling really helpless. Your  dad is obviously not wanting to share his news possibly out of protective concern for you, or maybe he’s just taking it all n himself first. I feel that you should respect his wishes but let him know you are there to talk if he wishes . You can get support yourself / and or your dad from Maggie’s cancer centre or from any of the cancer charities helplines . X

I am sorry to hear about your father's prostate cancer diagnosis, and I appreciate that you want to understand more about his situation.

I realise that your father not sharing what is happening causes worry. It is possible that he may think that talking about his situation is going to cause you more worry than not knowing. So do tell him that not knowing is more worrying. It could also mean that he finds it difficult and can't talk about it.

I am afraid that we cannot throw anymore light on this for you. In the meantime try not to resist asking too many questions. And remember that it is likely that as time passes that he will share with you what is happening to him.  Keep in contact with him as this will help you to see what is happening and what help he may need.
