Time to get biopsy results

I had a biopsy yesterday for suspected cancer of the womb

i am told the result will take 4 -6 weeks to arrive - is this right

    Waiting for results is often a worrying time and a lot of people contact us us to ask how long it will take. 

    Our understanding is that biopsy waiting times in the NHS can vary depending on the workload and staffing in local laboratories but I'm afraid we don't know exactly what is happening at a local level. But it's not unusual to wait the time you were told.

    You may know your results sooner than this. You can try giving them a call after 2 or 3 weeks to see what you can find out.

    I hope you hear soon and that everything turns out to be okay.
