That sounds about right. Covid has affected waiting times for results in the majority of regions. I waited 7 weeks for my womb biopsy results and that was pre Covid! 4-6 weeks is the "standard" but you may receive yours before or after this - just depends on backlogs. Good luck with your results.

I thought cancer was a priority but 4-6 weeks doesn't sound like it is - as you know it's a long time to wait and wonder.

Waiting for results is often a worrying time and a lot of people contact us us to ask how long it will take.
Our understanding is that biopsy waiting times in the NHS can vary depending on the workload and staffing in local laboratories but I'm afraid we don't know exactly what is happening at a local level. But it's not unusual to wait the time you were told.
You may know your results sooner than this. You can try giving them a call after 2 or 3 weeks to see what you can find out.
