PSA

Hello All

Just wondered, I've been on the PSA watch list for over 10 years (now 55) had 5 MRI, 2 Biopsies. MRI has presented as a steady and very consistent rise. Recent test indicates a 5 point rise in 1 year to 20+. Last covid telephone appointment, last year culminated in consultant saying I have cancer but haven't found it yet. Now have an MRI again next week. Anyone else with similar results?

  • Hi ade66

I knew someone who also has a PSA around 20 but no cancer found.  I've lost contact with him so I can't ask him how he's getting on now.

Some years ago I read a post by an American gentleman who was in a similar position, and had multiple negative biopsies.  It turned out he had cancer in a seminal vesicle which the biopsy needles weren't reaching. I believe he had successful surgery.

I was diagnosed over 10 years ago, and I know my post diagnosis MRI showed absolutely nothing significant!  However, since then, the new multi-parametric MRI (mpMRI) scan has been developed which shows up suspicious areas.  I assume this is what you will be having so let's hope it sheds some light on your situation.

    Best of luck.
