Hello
I have had an inverted nipple for a few months now, but didn't get it checked because around the same time I was taken into hospital unable to breathe. I am waiting for a scan because it was discovered I have an enlarged heart. I have also been checked for a thyroid problem so the inverted nipple has become secondary, which I know was silly. Anyway, I had some blood tests last Friday, and mentioned it to the nurse who had a quick look, then made me an appointment to have it checked on Monday. I had it checked and the doctor found a lump or possibly more. I was referred to the breast clinic, my appointment is a week on Monday, 15th November. The appointment date arrived by letter on Tuesday, the day after I was referred. Is this worrying that things are moving so quickly? The letter said it will take up to 4 hours for the appointment. Will I be told the results straight away? Will I be able to take my husband with me? We literally go everywhere together and I will need him with me. I have other issues, I am a wheelchair user and take morphine and other drugs for pain relief in my spine.
I have read that cancer can spread to the lymph nodes under the arm, but I have had all my glands/lymph nodes removed from under both arms over 16 operations a few years ago. Will cancer spread somewhere else instead? I know I'm jumping ahead thinking the worst, but I really am concerned.
Thank you for reading
