Awaiting results

I've read the whole of this thread and it's been really informative and helpful. I went to see gp as my nipple felt wrong and sore like burning or itching for 3 weeks. She examined me and found 'lumpy areas' on the same breast and the area is sore (if you poke it!). I was referred to breast centre and had a mammogram yesterday. Unfortunately they are not doing it all on one day anymore and I will have to wait for another appointment within another 2 weeks for results. I feel such a drama queen for being so anxious. My friends have nearly all had scares and are OK and don't seem to have been so bothered. I'm still working though, I'm not that distressed, more a weight in my chest and stomach. I'm 53. Much love to those also still waiting (and those diagnosed).

Seem to have posted this not where I expected!

  • Yes hers was clear thankfully.

I dont really have much support , I can sometimes talk to her but she's not going thru this so doesn't really know what to say .

I know she finds it frustrating not being able to come with me to appointments unless its the result appointment then she can come which makes no sense to be honest,  so once again when I go for the operation she will drop me off, go to work then wait until the hospital rings her to say I can go home , although they didn't ring her last time .

It's history repeating itself to her because her mum contracted breasf cancer 30 odd years ago and it reappeared 3 years ago but she died this time and now of course there's me , irs totally surreal x

  • [@Coffee1968]‍  glad your mammogram was clear. I went today, saw consultant first. He had a look at my breasts then sent me for a mammogram and ultrasound. Consultant rang after a few hours to let me know all results clear. Such a big relief! He has said I should get yearly mammograms and told me to take primrose to help
