Hi, not a teen breast cancer survivor but am young (23) and have found a lump so thought I'd reply. She should absolutely be given a referral to a breast clinic despite her age, odds are that she'll be absolutely fine but it's the right thing to check. they should do a physical examination and an ultrasound (too young for a mammogram), and if needed, a biopsy. I also found my lump on a weekend, I phoned 111 and they got a GP to call me back on an out of hours service and gave me a 2 week referral so that could be an option for you. Another option (if you have the financial means or health insurance that covers it) is to get a private appointment which I imagine would be quicker - not an option for me or many but worth knowing about. 

I understand how nerve wracking the whole thing is and waiting 2 weeks honestly is the worst part. Try and reassure yourselves by knowing that even if it is the absolute worst case scenario, 2 weeks is very very unlikely  to make any difference in the cancer's spread. I finally have my appointment tomorrow so fingers crossed all is okay.
