I used to get ovarian cysts and the pain was awful - radiating down my thigh. I am not sure if you've gone through the menopause if you still get ovarian cysts? Have you rung for your blood test result? There is a marker they check that shows a strong indication of cancer. I did read that it's rare for women to get IBS in their 50s, suppose that's why doctor mentioned Colitis. I still have not had a appointment for a scan, will be 2 weeks Monday since Doctor requested one. The waiting is terrible was considering going A&E next week if no joy with appointments but feel a bit of a fraud becuase I am not in agony so probally won't. Actually when I was being treated for the fibroid a few years ago, doctor tried to take a biospy and I nearly fainted with the pain,she asked me if I wanted a biospy?? Well I didn't get one, then for my next smear the nurse again was unable to do cause of the pain and I eventually went to the hospital where they have better instruments and it got done. All was ok, am due another smear now but was putting it off becuase i was scared of it happening again.
