Hi everyone,
(Newbie to this site) so, in 2009, aged 14, I had a core biopsy on a lump in my right breast which I was told was a benign fibroadenoma. After a lumpectomy on my right breast I was brought back being told it was in fact a Borderline phyllodes tumour. After another surgery I was free to continue as a normal teenager.
Over the years I’ve had many fibroadenomas, recently, (12 years post ops from phyllodes) I’ve found another lump in my right breast which I was told it was another fibroadenoma, it has grown and rescanned and they have decided to do another lumpectomy. I am worried incase fibroadenomas can be misdiagnosed and it could actually be some form of cancer.
2 weeks until lumpectomy.
Does anyone have their own experience with misdiagnosis?
I'm questioning how accurate are these biopsies and if it was cancer surely they would have seen cancer cells present in my biopsy?
thank you
