Tomorrow is results day..and I’m scared

After having total duct removal on the 7th, tomorrow is finally results day.
im terrified. I've tried staying positive, putting on a smiley face, pretending everything is fine, but in all honestly, I'm dying inside from fear and anxiety.

the past 3weeks have been a rollercoaster. Surgery, infection, going back to work, (I'm self employed and have literally just started my own business which is building up)

it's no so much the result itself im scared off, it's the fact I may need more surgery, I already feel mutilated and weak.

  • Hi Honey

It's my results day too tomorrow too! 2 weeks after my lumpectomy. I'll find out whether I'll need more surgery and/or chemo before I have radiation treatment.

I've been fine. But I'm feeling very anxious right now.

Sending love and I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for good news for us both tomorrow.

  • Hi Sarah,

I have everything crossed for you today to

Will also be thinking of you, and hoping we both get the outcome we hope for

    Xx

  • Hi [@Caz1976]‍

Good Luck for today, I hope all goes well for you and to you too [@SlightlyBewildered]‍

It's only natural to feel anxious, all these things just seem to happen around you and you feel that you have lost control.

After my surgery and waiting for results all sorts run through your mind, I really regret having my surgery now and just felt I was pulled along for the ride. I am still in my first year after surgery and waiting to see the breast clinic again for the annual check up, already I'm dreading it as this is a ride that never seems to end. I too felt I'd been throug the mill and struggle to get any oomph to get on and do things. There is plenty of people that will be there to help you through whatever comes up on your results and I hope that you lean on them to help you through.

Good Luck, hopefully you are able to update us how things went today.

  • Hi [@Kay-D]‍

    Thank you xx

My appointment is at 2.10pm and I'm lucky that the clinic is just a 15min walk across a lovely park from where I live. So thankfully no long journey!

Can I ask ... Why do you regret having surgery? Have you found out subsequently that there were other options that would've been better for you to consider?

Sending love. I'll update you later regarding the outcome this afternoon. Sarah xx

  • Hi [@SlightlyBewildered]‍ Sarah,

You must feel that your morning is just going to go by slowly then. hopefully you will enjoy your walk, my hospital is an hour away from where I live so more of a ardous journey.

No it wasn't about other options available, in the first appointment with the oncologist everything was explained very clearly and all options and possible treatments I could be needing or having, they said they were going to operate and I just signed the paperwork, I didn't take the time to think about it and decide what I wanted. I regret that, when it came to medication and radiotherapy I did have the chance to decide and think and make the decisions I wanted.

We all differ so much on the treatments available and we know the Doctors are giving us sound advice as to the best way to move forward to help us. I just followed blindly.

    Good Luck, fingers crossed. xx

  • Hope your appointment went well Sarah! Have been thinking of you xx
