Large breast lump found -worried

Hi

I'm 40 years old and mum to 2 boys. 

I have found a large lump in my left breast. At first I thought it was a small lump just above my nipple but when I press Into the breast it's about 6x6 cm. it's very hard. Strange thing is it's difficult  to feel when laid down. 

I can't believe I haven't felt this lump before. I lost my mum to breast cancer when she was 35 and I'm so scared the same will happen to me. 

With the size of it could it be anything else ? I have a mammogram in 2 weeks.

    Going through exactly the same thing.  Awaiting a date from the urgent referral (doc only referred today).  My lump is also large, it feels like an olive in my breast!  It's hard, painless, smooth(ish) and a little mobile.  
     

    I am sick to my stomach with worry and also think how have I missed this lump. 
     

    Good luck with your mammogram!  Let us know how you get on!

    It wasn't good news for me. Advised that I have a cyst and a mass about an inch long that looks cancerous. They can't confirm till I get my biopsy results on Wednesday but basically told I have cancer. 
     

    Hopfully yours will be a cyst. Just try to keep busy I hear the waiting is the worst part.

    So sorry for your news.  However still hold on to the hope that the biopsy results could show something different... but whatever happens sending hugs to you and will be thinking of you Wednesday!

     

    don't know how I am going to get through this waiting....
