Tested positive for HPV for 4 years in a row

Hi all,

I have tested positive for HPV for 4 years in a row and my last smear test also showed abnormal cells and need a colopscopy. My concern is, if i have had HPV for years is the risk of abnormal cells turning cancerous higher?

I have done nothing but cry since i opened my letter.

I have 3 children who need me and im petrified i have cancer

I can see this is quite an old post, but was wondering you have gotten on and how you got on at your colposcopy?

I too have been HPV+ for 4 years in a row and i'm about to have my 5th smear in a few weeks, i'm hoping and praying that's negative!! It's so hard though isn't it.... like we're on a constant loop from one year to another! x
