Blood in stools

Hi I have been experiencing blood in my stools for about 5 months now, every time I go, this comes in stool, bloody mucus, sometimes turns the water red and appears every time I wipe.

I often feel the need to go to the toilet then find myself sitting on the loo waiting for it to come, and it does eventually, it's not particularly hard or loose so just can't think where it's coming from.

I'm experiencing pain in abdomen and lower back, and have recently started getting what feels like shooting nerve pain down both legs.

I have had a colonoscopy that came back completely clear, no open wounds or lumps and blood tests that have also come back clear, however, my doctors have booked me an appointment to discuss my stool sample.

I have previously experienced bleeding for a year between 2018 and 2019, after a year it just stopped and I was to embarrassed to discuss it, however as it came back with a vengeance I had to get it checked.

  • I have had lower back pain for years now but recently much worse can't stand for longer than ten minutes ,have had one or other issues with my bowels for years also went about 5 months ago & had sigmoidoscopy after fit test was very high had 2 polyps removed no issues & was told fit test was probably due to me having camplybacter about 6 weeks before ,bleeding is still ongoing now have had 2 issues with passing clots & another fit test has came back high so colonoscopy ct is now arranged just feeling very anxious in general about all this I haven't lost any weight but I am very tired all the time

  • I'm sorry that your going through all this, don't know about you but I'm feeling very alone.

So frustrating trying to get answers, with every appointment I feel hopeful then just deflated, I know it could be something simple but can't stop the mind wandering, I completely understand your anxiety, and the waiting is torture.

I'll be interested to hear about your next results if you want to discuss them. Hope all goes well for you.

    Thank you for posting.

  • Thank you so much for reply yes it is very lonely & feel like a bit of a baby worrying so much as I know it could be so many other things & I have a great family I could talk to but don't want to worry them until I know there is something to worry about ,

  • It feels strange, I have a great family too, but I think I'm afraid that they will either think to much about it and maybe treat me different, or think to little and I'll feel belittled about my dread and concern, making me feel even more alone.
