red spots on arms bleeding under skin . Test results back

Hi everyone

For three months I have had skin bleeds on my arms and now a few on my legs. I already have ezcema but these skin bleeds are worrying.  I have just got my tests back today and I have been told I need to speak to the doctor. I need to wait till Monday but in the meantime the results show above range platelet count of 454.  With both the high platelets and the skin bleeds I am really concerned but will post further when more is known. I'm posting this for information as there is very little I can find on the internet regarding people with these kind of symptoms and I will post further when I find out more from the GP

    Hi sorry for not replying sooner, been thinking about answering,our son about 40years ago had same problem he wanted join army and there Dr did medical and had no idea what was causing it so he couldn't join up luckily my mother was a nurse and had seen it before, remember I'm not medically trained and could be wrong,It was diagnosed as "purpura" he lived with it for over 10years when it just went away, never been back,our son is still alive and well apart from some other things.

    Really I cannot be sure it's same thing.   Good luck with finding out what it is.

    How lovely of you to take the time to send me a message Billy.   It is very much appreciated.

    My situation appears to be more complex and I am a lot older than your son. However, it is still really nice to know that there are such obviously caring people left in the world like yourself.
