Obviously I am much older than you.  I do remember a number of years ago I had one done that was HPV (human papilloma virus, not sure got that quite right but if you Google you will find) positive.  Like you I felt quite concerned.  I learned though that there are a lot of different strains of this virus but only one that causes cervical cancer potentially.  So if they are telling you you are ok I really would not worry.  In time my smears came back completely clear again x

The HPV virus is not the same thing as herpes. Most sexually active people will come into contact with HPV during their lives and for the vast majority it causes no issues at all. 

No abnormal cells have been found in your case, so you are fine and don’t have anything to worry about.The whole point of the cervical screening programming is to pick up changes to cells and treat them. As you have had no cell changes, you are ok.
