Straight to ENT no doctor. What will happen at the appt?

Hi, I'm a 30 year old female went to the dentist around 4 months ago with a lump on my hard palette told it was nothing to worry about.

fast forward to the next dentist appointment a month later and again asked about the ulcer/lump and she said again nothing to worry about.

I then started having strange neck pains which I had never felt before .. sore throat on and off, ear pain etc called doctor and he didn't seem concerned said to see how I go.

fast forward another month and I've moved doctors I called them regarding the pain in my neck and she hasn't even seen me and referred me straight to the ENT

im a mess mentally saying goodbye to my children, I really can't get it out my head that I will be leaving them.

please can anyone tell me what to expect at my ENT appointment?

thank you

  • Hello Maii

I'm sorry to hear that you've been dealing with an ongoing health concern for the past few months.

Whilst it's understandable that you're now feeling anxious about the fact that your new GP has referred you for an ENT opinion, try to keep positive about the fact that the dentist who has seen this area twice didn't have any immediate concerns. There could be any number of reasons for the symptoms that you're experiencing but hopefully, you won't have to wait too long for an appointment.

If you'd like to chat things through with one of our team of nurses for some advice and reassurance in the meantime, you're welcome to call them on 0808 800 4040 (Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm).

I hope that things settle for you soon.

    Best wishes,
