I just wanted to welcome you to our forum. I hope you won't have to wait too long to be seen. I can imagine it must be a very stressful time for you while waiting to find out more.

I know it is really hard but try not to worry too much or anticipate what it might be. The best thing to do to avoid thinking too much about this is to keep busy and distracted if you can and avoid looking things up online. I can imagine it is hard for you to do this at the moment but it will help you feel a little less anxious. 

I hope you will also hear from others here who have been through all this before and that they will be along soon to share their story with you. 

Keeping everything crossed for you that everything turns out fine.

Hello Tara,

I understand your worry. I started getting an itchy sensitive nipple a few weeks ago. When it didn't go away with creams I  called my doctor again and got a breast exam where she found a lump. I have a referral for the 17th and have health and general anxiety which is going crazy at the moment. My left breast just feels odd and I'm convincing myself it will be something bad.

Finally got my letter and my app is 24th May !! I cannot wait that long. I've stopped eating. Stopped functioning like a normal

adult. I keep crying just looking at my children.  I have booked privately now so I managed to get an app

for next Friday which is more doable.  I feel so scared   I lost my dear father to cancer a few years back which has heightened my health anxiety and fear of cancer.

I'm glad you got a sooner appointment, waiting over 1 month would be agony as 1 week is bad enough. I have lost my appetite also and trying not to let my thoughts run riot.

I have my appointment tomorrow morning and feel like I am holding my breath at times with anxiety but I just need to know now what's going on.

I'm so sorry to hear about your dad, I think as you get older and have kids you realise how precious life is.

Hey.  So I traveled long and far for a app private as I couldn't cope with the anxiety.  
 

I was told by the breast doctor that they are all just breast tissue and cysts.  And all felt normal to him.   He wasn't concerned in the slightest.   He said it was linked to my hormones and cycle and to take primrose to see if it helps.  He didn't even offer the ultrasound scan as he didn't want to add onto my anxieties.  He felt that strongly with feeling my breast it was nothing t to worry about.   So for now. I'll take that as I'm all ok.  And just keep an eye on any changes in the future

I'm so glad you managed to get an appt and that you had such good news.

I was told that the lump behind my nipple was thickening of breast tissue and the tenderness & itchiness they put down to hormones, all seems fine for now and I am so relieved.

I thought I'd feel great now but the last few weeks of stress and anxiety has really knocked me.  Just so exhausted. I think I'll finally sleep a lot better tonight x.

I called up and in Wales the urgent list is 6 months! So I've gone private. I can't wait 6 months I have a little boy and there too much anxiety x
