Pancreatic cancer

I’m at my wits end.

Been waiting nearly 5 weeks to get mum’s CT scan results for suspected pancreatic cancer.

GP can’t help apparently.

Hospital phone just rings and rings and cuts off.

Have managed to get through a couple of times and each time they’re full of apologies, the results are there and have been looked at, ‘we’ll call you straight back’ ... but nothing. Was even promised an email yesterday that never came.

Mum is distraught. I’ve explained how upset she is but nothing happens.

What can I do?

  • Hi there

MDT means multi disciplinary team. So all the doctors from oncology, gastroenterology etc meet up once a week to discuss patients and the plan for each.

Hope you managed to hear from them.

    Take care

  • Hi,

Any updates? My Dad is 1 month post pancreatic cancer diagnosis and he's dying. His wasn't found until the spread was substantial. I hope your Mum's is in a better state. I will say, with very bad news, things went very quickly and he had multiple appointments within a week, each one worse than the last!

So maybe the fact they're emailing you means it's not as bad as our situation?

    Thinking of you,

    Mel
