I can imagine it must be a very stressful time for you while waiting for these important biopsy and CT scan results. I hope that you have heard something back by now?

I am not sure myself whether they will tell you over the phone or they will write to you but perhaps other members of the forum who have been in a similar position recently will be able to tell you more about this.  If you are really worried, you could try and call them - there would certainly be no harm in getting in touch with them and asking for an update if they have one. I know it's really hard but try not to worry too much or anticipate what it might be. The best thing to do to avoid thinking too much about this is to keep busy and distracted if you can and avoid looking things up online. I can imagine it is hard for you to do this at the moment but it will help you feel a little less anxious. There are some helpful tips on this page to help you cope while waiting for important news.

I hope you will also hear from others here who have been through all this before and that they will be along soon to share their story with you.

If its of any help I had my ct scan on a Friday and they rang me on the following Friday to say that I had to go and have a transverginal scan it was the clinical nurse who rang me to say they found something on the ct see didn't go into detail and said a letter from ct department would be sent out in a months time when I got transferred to a different hospital they just said I was a high priority till I have this other scan so try not to worry about it for now thats what i am doing for now at least good luck anyway.

I rang the hospital, speak to the doctors secretary or PALs and explain that your're very anxious and ask if you could have your results as soon as possible.  I did this and the doctors secretary was very helpful, she chased up the results and my surgeon rang me.  I had an MRI scan one week and a CT scan the next and waited in total just over a week (MRI took longer, CT results were back in 3 days).

I waited ages for my biopsy results.  They knew whilst I was in hospital but chose not to tell me until 2 weeks after I was discharged at a face to face meeting with the surgeon, I think this was because I'd had major surgery and was still recovering.  Just keep chasing them up with the secretary.  If you're having any issues getting results, contact PALS team in the hospital and explain you're very anxious and ask if they can expedite your results.  PALs helped me twice bringing forward appointments as I was so anxious.
