Hpv and abnormal cells

Hi, I had a smear in jan 2020 which was abnormal was to go back 6 months later but I was missed and was sent an apology letter and was seen in December I got my results 2 weeks ago which states I have hpv and abnormal cells and need to go for a colposcopy am a nervous wreck now can't stop thinking about it the letter said I would be seen within 8 weeks but these last 2 weeks have dragged. I am in the depo jag and don't have a period however I have noticed some clear discharge, I feel like there's pressure but I don't know if it's mind over matter and recently during sex I got extremely bad like period cramp to the point my leg was shaking with the pain also have seen people on here saying about cramp on leg I have been getting this for just over a year but I put it down to my back operation is this a symptom? Am 30 and only have one child, I really need appt to be quick to put my mind at ease :(

I'm sorry to hear that you've recently been dealing with some health concerns. It's not uncommon to have HPV and abnormal cells but we also know that many women feel worried about this when they receive this news. You might find it helpful to have a look at this information on the Jo's Trust website.

Hopefully, you won't have to wait too long for your appointment but if you're able to attend at short notice then it may be worth giving the hospital a call to see if they have cancellation appointments.

    Best wishes,
