Partner has prostate cancer, now has hard mass above knee

Hi,

my partner has had prostrate cancer for 4 years, his PSA is normally between 3-4. He has developed a solid lump on the outer thigh just above his knee. His knee is painful but the lump isn't. It is 6 inch in circumferance. Hes seen 3 GP's and the Rheumatologist who have no clue if it is connected to his cancer or not so is awaiting a scan. Has anyone had anything like this before? X

  • Hi Tready.  Welcome to the forum.

I must emphasise that I'm not a doctor but I was treated for prostate cancer 10 years ago.

I can't say whether this is or isn't related to the prostate, but if it was then I'd expect the PSA to be lot higher than 3 or 4.

I hope he gets an answer soon and whatever it is turns out to be treatable.
