I'm sorry to hear that you're waiting for a TURP procedure at the moment. It's understandable that you may be feeling anxious about this and how you will recover afterwards. 

I can see that both [@Lizada]‍ and [@Spuduknow]‍ have both posted recently and mentioned that they have had a TURP and I know that [@telemando]‍ had surgery for prostate cancer many years ago. As I've tagged them into my reply hopefully they will post to share their experiences with you.

Hi I go in on the 4th January it's for a transpeanal biopsy said I had 3 / 4 lesion with a PSA of 6.3 doing it under local .Mentioned at last appointment they may still monitor don't feel confident with that route of treatment after seeing my father and various other people I know who have had it and none are here.

It really depends on what the biopsy finds.  If it's a 3+3 gleeson then monitoring is a viable option, but it's your decision.  If it's anything else then they'll probably recommend treatment. 

Mine was a 3+4, PSA 6.5 (ish - can't remember exact number).  I had a robotic radical prostatectomy and ten years later I'm still here to talk about it! 

Hi had my biopsy yesterday was not a procedure I want again I experienced a lot of pain and felt every part of the procedure is that normal.
As the surgeon made a comment of not giving me enough anaesthetic.?

Ouch!

The amount of pain varies from person to person, but I think it also depends of whether or not you've got prostatitis.  I had no pain with the needles on one side, but quite a lot with the needles on the other side.  I'd previously had several attacks of prostatitis before the biopsy.

With any luck you won't need another biopsy.
