Interesting to read this chat and glad I've found it.

I had the AZ covid vaccine on Thursday 25th March - 4 days ago in my right arm. I've had a sore arm for a few days and today I noticed a tenderspot above my collarbone on the same side as the injection. There is what I take to be a swollen lymph node.

I googled it as I realised it might be connected to the vaccine and found lots of articles about this being a side effect of the various covid vaccines.

I will monitor it and ring the doctor if it doesn't go away. I certainly hadn't noticed it before the vaccine.

As with all of us who have had the vaccine it's sounds likely that's what it is. My lymph node is still palpable after 6 weeks but definitely smaller. Just wondering if the second dose will cause a similar side effect?

I have one on each side of my collarbone's doctor said it was nothing to worry about.But I am not still shore as I was unwell for 3/4 weeks before they came out and I am still not well doctor said if any more comes out take pictures of them my friend has the same thing swelling both sides of his neck and itchy skin and bad sweates at night and he has cancer of the lymph nodes and I have everything the same said to me first it was can of the lymph nodes now there saying nothing to worry about so cofuis

My husband found a study that appeared to show  that it can also happen after the second dose of a covid vaccine too. It was a Spanish study of pfizer reactions . Quite a few had the collarbone node swellings a few days after the second jab and some after the first and some had nodes disappear after 9 days, and others it was beyond a month so it varies from person to person quite alot.

I discovered mine yesterday and it was a bit tender and swelled even bigger a few hours later. I can still feel it today but its gone down a bit again but is still there.

My friend had her lymph nodes swell in her armpits on the same side as the vaccine and they were quite swollen and painful for a week.

It does seem to be quite common. It says 1 in 100 on the AZ leaflet. I've noticed it being reported quite a bit in the U.S after the pfizer and Moderna jabs.. I think it can happen after the flu vaccines too. The bodies natural reaction to a virus I guess.

Its still worrying when you find a swollen node but reassuring to chat with other people it's happening to as well. L

I think we have probably been reading the same reports!! Yes, I saw the Spanish study too. It does seem to be more prevalent than they were expecting , as you say especially in the US. It's just a bit scary when you google collar bone lymph nodes so reassuring that it seems to be happening to quite a few of us.

Mine stopped being painful after a few days - I'm trying to stop playing with it now as I'm sure that doesn't help!

I keep prodding mine too I am trying to stop myself. 

It is worrying when you find a lump or swelling  in that area and initially I was quite worried and then I remembered I'd just had the covid jab and that there could be a connection which is when I started to research it. It isn't always good to google too much as you can end up worrying yourself alot. But in this case it did reaffirm that this does seem to be a side affect that is appearing quite a bit given the number of articles and studies on it online.

It takes a few, weeks to get fully protected from the vaccine so I suppose it's no surprise that in some people the nodes are also swollen for a few weeks too. I will report it to the Yellow Card Scheme for side, effects. Did you do that? 

I will keep you posted about it as I will be monitoring it and if you could do the same that would be great. When do you have your second vaccination? Mine is scheduled for mid June.

My second injection will be in May - so not long to wait. 
I reported it to the Yellow Card Scheme too.

I'll let you know if there are any further developments - it's very hard to estimate the size of the node isn't it .It seems to vary depending on which angle I approach it from!

This is so reassuring! 12 days after my vaccine now...I realised the point of my shoulder was tender almost like it was bruised after poking around I then realised a small pea sized lump on the outer part of my collar bone but underneath. 
 

I read about lymph nodes too but my lump wasn't near them so I was so confused and started to worry! So glad I've seen this post! 

Your experience is very similar to mine. I had my vaccine on the 25th March and 4 days later I felt a tenderness near my collarbone on the same side as the jab. It was then that I noticed an enlarged lymph node above the collarbone. That was exactly a week ago that I discovered  it. I can still feel it but it has definitely reduced in size quite a bit over the course of a week.  Several articles said it can last for several weeks.

From what I've read online quite a few people have been experiencing this on their collarbones and in the armpit area (as a friend of mine did) on the same side as the covid jab. There has been a lot of reporting of it in the U.S.

I also am still getting the odd twinge at the jab site too although not as bad as when I first had the vaccine. 

I plan to report it to the Yellow Card scheme for any side effects.
