Cold Coagulation

Hello, I had a colposcopy 10 days ago following after being referred by the nurse who found ectropion cells whilst doing my smear (which came back normal, as did the previous one 3 years ago). During colposcopy they found the ectropion cells and explained they would be removed with cold coagulation, however they also found something else which they took 2 biopsies of. They advised I would get the results in about 6 weeks and be invited back to clinic to discuss treatment options. Today I receive notification that an appointment has been made for me in clinic in 4 weeks time and, 'if appropriate, I will be offered treatment on the day.' It also includes a leaflet about cold coagulation, but says nothing about the findings of colposcopy or the other cells. Has anyone had a similar experience and what was the outcome/diagnosis? X

  • Hello MrsP28

I'm sorry to hear that you've had some health concerns recently. It does sound to me as if you've been sent a fairly standard appointment letter so I wouldn't read too much into what has been said.
It's understandable that you may be feeling anxious though so do give the clinic a call if you have any concerns and I'm sure they will be able to explain how the process will work.

Alternatively if you'd like to give our team of nurses a call then you can speak to them on 0808 800 4040 (Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm).

    Best wishes,
